On August 24, a book dedicated to Gordon Bazemore, a stalwart of restorative justice credited with introducing RJ to the American criminal justice system, will hit the book stores.
It is titled “Justice in Legal Systems, Education, and the Community: Reflections On What Works, Where We Can Grow, and What's Next” Each chapter is written by someone who knew Gordon and was influenced by his work. I am one of the chapter authors.
I tell the story how Gordon inspired me to bring RJ to the parole field supervision while I was assistant director of field services and later brought it to my juvenile court and share the stories of redemption and healing as a result of RJ.
Gordon passed away and he is missed, but this book keeps his memory alive and the chapter contributors believe it will inspire all who are involved in whatever way in adult and juvenile justice.
Here is a link to pre-order the book. The authors do not profit from this book other than the good will enjoyed to celebrate the work of Gordon. The monies go to further restorative justice and to honor Gordon.
